Sanchar Saathi is a citizen centric initiative of Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to empower mobile subscribers, strengthen their security and increase awareness about citizen centric initiatives of the Government. Sanchar Saathi is available in form of Mobile App and Web Portal (www.sancharsaathi.gov.in).

Application does not automatically capture any specific personal information from you without intimation on the Application.

If the Application requests you to provide personal information, you will be informed for the particular purposes for which the information is gathered and adequate security measures will be taken to protect your personal information.

We do not share any personally identifiable information volunteered on the Application to any third party (public/private) except required by law enforcement agencies as per the prevailing laws. Any information provided will be protected from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

In the Mobile App, following permissions are captured: -

For Android: Following permission are taken in android device along with purpose: -

1. Make & Manage phone calls: To detect mobile numbers in your phone.
2. Send SMS: To complete registration by sending the SMS to DoT on 14422.
3. Call/SMS Logs: To report any Call/SMS in facilities offered by Sanchar Saathi App.
4. Photos & files: To upload the image of Call/SMS while reporting Call/SMS or report lost/stolen mobile handset.
5. Camera: While scanning the barcode of IMEI to check its genuineness.

For iOS: Following permission are taken in iOS device along with purpose: -

1. Photos & files: To upload the image of Call/SMS while reporting Call/SMS or report lost/stolen mobile handset.
2. Camera: While scanning the barcode of IMEI to check its genuineness.

Reasonable Security Practices

Reasonable security measures such as administrative, technical, operational and physical controls have been implemented to ensure the security of personal information, if collected.
